DISCREET DISCIPLINE

"He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity." (Job 36:10).

A young man spent much of his summer holiday on a bicycle. About a mile from their house, the road went down a steep hill and turned sharply at the bottom. Riding down the hill one morning, he felt his gathering speed to be exciting, and to give up this excitement by applying brakes seemed an absurd self-punishment. So, he decided to retain his speed and negotiate the corner at the same time. Unfortunately, he was thrown a dozen feet off the road into the woods. he was badly wounded, bleeding and his new bike was twisted beyond repairs.

Let God direct your life

As you negotiate the curves and corners of your life, you must continually give up parts of yourself. Let God direct your life in order to achieve your goal. When you are right with God, you can be hard on yourself and easy on others. On the contrary, When you are not right with God, you tend to easy on yourself, and hard on others. Be right with God and avoid being notoriously careless.

Challenge: Indiscipline is self-destruction

Prayer: God, make me a disciplined youth
